Events @ UNL

  • NUgrant Workshops

Workshops that provide training in NUgrant’s functions for routing proposals and filing IRB protocols are offered each semester as part of the NURAMP workshop series.

    NURAMP e-Learning Library

Our library of e-modules consists of short (10-15 minute) narrated Power Point presentations on a variety of topics related to research and research administration at UNL. While the e-modules can stand alone, they work best in combination with each other or with participation in NURAMP classroom workshops to create a richer learning experience. Find the e-Learning Library here.

  • Research Development Fellows Program

  • Program Description

  • The Research Development Fellows Program (RDFP) is an Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) initiative designed to provide full-time, pre-tenure faculty with the information, resources and approaches necessary to prepare competitive grant proposals.

The year-long program is composed of three primary components:

    Learning Activities

At the core of the RDFP is a combination of formal and informal learning sessions designed to help fellows conceptualize project plans, interact effectively with program officers, identify funding opportunities, plan and draft effective grant proposals and develop an understanding of the proposal review process.

    Consultation

RDFP learning activities are complemented by one-on-one consultations with University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) administrators, faculty colleagues and ORED staff, who provide advice to fellows regarding the proposal development process, including the creation of a concept paper and elevator pitch.

    Sponsor Engagement

A group trip to Washington, D.C. provides fellows an opportunity to network with program officers about their research ideas.

    Eligibility

Applications are welcome from full-time, pre-tenure faculty who are in the early stages of developing a research program. Visiting, adjunct and research-track faculty and professors of practice are not eligible to apply. Program participation is limited to 20 fellows per year. Fellows who participate in the RDFP may not re-apply in subsequent years.
